W-Day tomorrow & I have NO IDEA where I'll stand ...

Hey everyone!  I just thought I'd post a quick message relating my FEAR about the weigh-in tomorrow!  I'm scared I'm getting to one of those "plateua" places, after losing about 15 lbs. fairly easily (I say that ONLY b/c I KNEW it would require MAJOR eating/moving changes & I have done those things fairly well).  I cheated this morning, by weighing in to see how my week is shaping up (plus I was "blessed" w/that time of the month again, so I KNEW things wouldn't be great & I wanted to see the damage!).  Anyway, I've busted my tail this week (doing 2 workouts a day since Wed.) & eating what I thought was good & the scale was NOT kind.  At 5am, it said I had gained 1.5 lbs. & at 9 am (BLESS my husband's heart for giving me a morning to SLEEP IN!!! LOVE him for that!!), the scale said I was up by .5 lbs.  I KNOW, I KNOW, weigh-in isn't until TOMORROW, but there is NO WAY I'm losing 2-3 lb.s OVERNIGHT (unless all this MUSCLE I've built up is going to magically MELT off those pounds today! Tongue out).  I am SOOOO focused on getting OUT of the 180's in Feb. & I don't have a whole lot of time to do it, now, as the month winds down!  I am trying really HARD to stay on that 10lbs. a month track & now I seem to be hitting a wall!

I CAN say that I truly AM building a lot of muscle, as my husband can attest to.  He felt my arms/legs the other day & was blown away by how SOLID they have become.  I can even feel the muscles in my abs when I tighten them (of course, they are still covered by the blubber, so NO WAY was he going to feel THOSE muscles! Wink), but they ARE there ... even those "obliques" that the instructor is always encouraging me to CRUNCH are getting tight!).  I know I wrote about being able to fit into clothes I couldn't, so my body IS changing & for that I'm thankful ... it's just that I don't know what else to do!  I'm exercising regularly (& VARYING the routines!) & eating OK (I think?) & drinking a TON of water (over 100 oz. a day) ... WHAT IS UP???  I NEED A PERSONAL TRAINER TO HELP ME NAVIGATE THIS COMPLEX JOURNEY!!

Since I don't have one ... maybe all of you could help me out.  Any suggestions?  HOW could I "jump-start" this losing game again?  What can I do to rev up my metabolism & get it burning again?  I can say I haven't been doing well w/eating those 5 smaller meals a day, as I just can't seem to fit in those "snacks." (I'm honestly NOT hungry for them!).   I'm SURE that would help, so I will focus on that this week.  Any other ideas from others that have hit this snag?  I have NO PLANS to give up & I'm not discouraged, b/c as I've said, I AM seeing changes, but that's not to say I'm not frustrated.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks, guys & enjoy a WONDERFUL WEEKEND!!!

Take care, everyone & until next time .... drink some water, move a little & SMILE! Wink

I would just think back to the BL show.  There are some weeks (after they are working out 4 hours a day!!!) when there is just little weight lost.  When you know you have done everything you could have, feel good about that!  Your two-a-days are very inspiring!  Is that actually going to the gym twice a day or stuff at home?

It definitely is so hard to stay focused when that darn scale won't budge!  You are seeing other positive changes, which is GREAT!  Keep up the workouts and maybe you can try switching up what you're eating.  What about eating a higher calorie breakfast and a lower calorie dinner so that your body works off most of the calories before bed?  There's a diet plan out there called the reverse diet that has you do something like that.  I think if you keep doing what you're doing and just change up your eating a little bit, you'll see that scale move down again.
Best wishes to you!!

you're doing great! Son't worry too much about it. There were days I would gain 5 pounds only to lose that plus two on weigh in day. Keep doing what you're doing, the weight will fall off. Don't lose sight of that 212 determination.  February isn't over yet, there's still time to get out of the 180's. I'm still fighting 190's. Have a great weekend.

When I was doing weight watchers a couple of years ago and would hit a plateau I would have a "cheat day" where I would eat a fatty meal such as steak or something which would shock my system and put me back in  a losing streak.  Not trying to sabotage you..just wanted to tell you what worked for me.  Good luck tomorrow...I know Aunt Flo can be a pain.

The more I read blogs about the scale the more I hate it! IMO the scale should not be the ultimate measure of success. You observations of yourself clearly show you are doing exactly what this all about - getting healthy. Your muscle mass is increasing, you have lost a lot of weight, and you fit into more clothes. You don't need a scale to tell you're making progress. Keep doing what you are doing! If that scale isn't going down you have hit a pleateau, even if you haven't, in your mind you have, then you need to change something. There are 2 basic changes you can make, workouts or eating. Work out twice a day, change your cardio machines, maybe some cardio before eating anything in the morning. For food, mix in some high calore and low calorie days, but keep you weeks calories the same, or try to eat all protien one day, all carbs the next.
If the goal is to make the scale go down,  - no weights or very low and only do cardio workouts.
Personally I thing you are already doing awsome, just change something up.

You and I are in the same boat!  I know I have put on some muscle and we all know muscle weighs more than fat!  this could be our plateau for now.  Muscle burns off fat, so don't get discouraged!    You will once again be a "LOSER!"  Hugs to you and yours and thanks for the wonderful comments to my site!  I really needed them today!  Good luck tomorrow!
